On this day made for giving thanks, I share this simple prayer
I pray good fortune, hope and peace finds my friends, everywhere
It is my wish that everyone has blessings beyond measure
To make this holiday the best: a day to always treasure
I pray you’ll see the sun at dawn and feel its warmth, throughout
And that the Lord shall grant you strength, should your life be without
This day, may everything you wish and all this time imparts
Embrace your lives in endless joy to rest inside your hearts
I pray you’ll hear the laughter of a child, ‘fore day is passed
And share wonderful memories that shall be destined to last
Thanksgiving starts a season made for happiness and sharing
A time of tenderness and faith; a time for love and caring
This is a day of giving thanks for each and every blessing
A day with so much purpose, far beyond turkey and dressing
So, with that very thought in mind, I pray you’ll find His will
Happy Thanksgiving, one and all, may your day be a thrill.
