Come walk in my garden with me
The morning sun is high in the sky
Indian summer has blessed us
With another lovely day.

The rose bushes are still in bloom
I have a perfect yellow rose for you
Smell the heady fragrance, exciting the senses
Move closer to me so that I might join you.

Sit with me on my park bench surveying
All that I have prepared for you to see
The garden is in full bloom, soon to drop
Their petals to give way to autumnal splendor.

Fall flowers will soon replace the faded blooms
Bright yellow mums, oranges and reds galore
Shrubs grown tall, alive with red berries
All beautiful, a feast for the eyes.

As the grass grows brown and void of summer green
And light snow falls gently on the ground
I will turn my mind to spring gardening
When the earth comes into it's own again

Bringing forth cool spring breezes as restorative
Rains fall to nurture mother earth once more
Bringing nature back to the beginning of the cycle
When once again I plan my summer garden.

NATURE TOUCHED YOUR SPIRIT AND FILLED YOU WITH PHRASES THAT SOOTHE THE LOST OF SUMMER BLOOMS, WHILE ANTICIPATING THE ARRIVAL OF AUTUMN'S FLORAL GIFTS. GREAT PICTURE! THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

sumptuous, sonorous, seasonal and enough imagery to sate a film editor! This one teases alive the senses with a synaesthesia of form and row upon row of romanticism. Nicely done, Joy.

SHE walks in beauty, like the night. Of cloudless climes and starry skies, And all that's best of dark and bright. Meets in her aspect and her eyes.
Romance and nature bloom together in your poetic words.

Yes your writing had me right there at your back door ready to walk out with you and sit on that park bench. I could smell the yellow rose and see all those brillant autumn colors coming to life. You write so beautifully. You just take us there.

Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas,
Judy

Joy, the beauty in this piece is worth the wait the flowers will give way to winter and then return to capture our smiles in the promise of Spring Life cycles in all its beautiful splendor and this garden contains all of the Creators greatest creations. Yes, your muse has returned...but did I not know that already?

Oh, Joy. Such beautifully floral words. The colors of Autumn make me think that I possibly might consider leaving all of Southern California winter's moderate warmth for the colors of upcoming winter that you so well describe... Uh, though, yes, your poem is lovely! But still, to leave Southern California to see the splendor of Autumn's color... Really, I think not.
Glad to see you writing again.

Yep, an age old custom spawned by the weather. I don't think true gardeners ever get tired of the ritual. Since I was married to one I know they don't. I liked the intimate way you wrote this, I feel as if I could walk across the street and sit on the bench with ya.
