After the day's done, I shall prepare for an evening spent gazing at the stars & into his eyes...

Poem Artwork

Primrose greets the evening stars/

crickets perform on their guitars/

Fluted candles flicker, so bright/

beautifully reflective/

opalescent light/

lilies dispense their aroma, sweet/

the day is gone, my mind's replete/

with visions of a place in time/

Where there is only you and  I/

Primrose greets the evening stars/

crickets perform on their guitars/

and I at once must take my seat/

cause thoughts of you have made me weak

You captured the magic moment of waiting for your love in the evening so well that it's hard to believe you did it with so few words. Splendid.

This is beautiful Shirley, it plays like a lovely song.
I can hear the tune in my mind...smell the essences in the air
and know how you long for this wonderful person.
