There is always a light to look forward too.

Poem Artwork

Wrapped in walls of stone
I walk toward the light.
However, there's darkness with each step. I mourn.
This darkness I fight with life re-born.
Toward the light I take each step.
Never knowing what fate would behold
I've been down this road before and suffered great pain.
What does the light hold? Thunder, lightning, and always rain
Will follow me all my days. As I stand in the darkness, I
     realize
Thunder is a voice of mighty power; lightning a rapture of light,
     and rain
Gives life to all living things and thus do they rise.
As I continue down that dark way, I search for all things good.
If, only in this life I could, bring her back I would.
She stood by me for so very long.
But time takes a toll, and now her love is for another so strong.
One step then another I trod the damp, sandy floor.
Why Lord, why must I journey more?
A sweet, salty fragrance fills the air and a soft wind whispers
" For I made all things pleasant; the one you seek, yes even
     her.
The end of the path eases the dark.
It is said, there are more fish in the sea, but I only seem to feed
     the sharks.
But alas, the light did break,
As I climbed upward for Heaven's sake.
I climb hand over hand with all my might.
I stood at the top with no malice or strife.
For at the end of those walls of stone, stands my future wife.
