Poem Artwork

When everything in life looks bleak

You think the world is coming apart

Time to get your lover and speak

Romantic words to impassion the heart

Entwine yourselves in loves sweet thrill

Kiss away the doldrums born of duress

Let the wine of depths desire freely spill

Let the release of gifted pleasure bless

Imagine there's no evidence of time

That seeks to rob you of your happiness

What counts is that you're making rhyme

Together you will make the world hurt less

My dear Eileen,

Even before my eyes took in the lyrical harmony of your words, your beautiful picture and music invited the mood of love and romance.

O, what a way with words you have, my love. And, yes, one of the "gifted pleasures" is to feel "no evidence of time."

In closing, you bring to us what only love offers: "Together you will make the world hurt less."

"Speak Romance" is one of the loveliest poems I have read in a long, long time, Eileen. Exquisite. Softly romantic. A real treasure.

In admiration,
Richard

Well, my dear Eileen, it's May, and I'm back! This beautiful poem and the glorious old classic "All The Things You Are" music stir my heart and leave me breathless. Will I be back in June? Probably. But I'll be back many times before then. I'll just sneak in through your open window. Shhhhh. We want no evidence of time.
Richard

Which is more great the art of giving or the bless of receiving?
Perhaps it is just two sides of the same coin.
Saying it in a poem, gives both acts the quality of a soft promise which will evolve into a bliss.
Well done.
