Poem Artwork

the evening was lovely and pitch dark
leaning on the rail of the ship, while
a few feet away all was lit up and people were dancing

he went over and asked her to dance
she had met him for the first time in
the dinning hall at lunchtime

she turned to face him
his eyes like sensor beams
boring into her anatomy
his musky scent teasing her senses
they stood toe to toe sizing -up each other

she said yes, and they walked to the dance floor, as soon as skin touched skin they knew, their bodies melded and swayed in unison to the latin music of, Solitude

Sometimes it happens, just like that
they spent several nights in glorious union a romantic interlude unlike any other

making wondrous memories,of a time without inhibition, free to act as they desired, with no holding back, knowing neither one was free, and they'd never meet again

Man, I was just on a boat and that didn't happen to me. Achy breaky, poor, poor, pity, pitiful little me. ;-) (Hey! Anothor song!)

It is true that some of the best moments are very fleeting indeed... ...perhaps to be continued in another life, another plane. Thank you, Eileen. Love and best wishes,

I guess this is your poetic version of "The Love Boat" Wasn't that an old Hollywood TVshow once? I'm like more on the "African Queen"! Me & Bogey!
Enjoyed your lighter touch... michael

Sometimes when two ships pass in the night they can exchange something. You've captured this moment beautifully.

Yes, and that is really the way it should be, and life should be lived, instead of hanging on like a possession out of fear of lack, of it happening again, and again, we can all create these moments over and over again, with a bit of finesse, and an open mind, and a pure heart.

There is no other sensation like that of total abandonment with another person, realizing what happens there, at that moment, will be only a memory, with nothing else, like strings involved, to mar the acts of unabashed and complete physical satisfaction . . . I have mine, hopefully everyone else has theirs, it is something to reflect back on and smile a teasingly wicked smile about for the rest of your life . . . Stupendous poem . . .

Wow! What a romantic interlude!
"making wondrous memories,of a time without inhibition, free to act as they desired, with no holding back, knowing neither one was free, and they'd never meet again"
no emotional ties, no strings, just a beautiful memory. Love it!
