Whether it was  the evanescent  moon which internittenly left them with only stars for light

Or the refreshing breeze sporadically coming to shore off the rhythm of the waves

The night was enchanting with mysteries yet to be explored, by the couple just now realizing their mutual desire

Walking along the beach in silence, each experiencing new feelings for the other not yet expressed

He suddenly took her hand, and she looked up at him with surprise in her eyes, but her lips parted in a warm smile

They continued walking holding hands, then he said, "What would you say about getting a room and staying overnight" he held his breath waiting for her answer

"It sounds like a good idea to me, one day at the beach is never enough for me",she said with a smile, though her voice quivered a bit.

They stopped walking and embraced in a passionate kiss, that told them they were going to have a pleasurable romantic evening of new discovery ahead

Suddenly the nascent night exploded into
a thunderstorm and they ran laughing to where the car was parked, eagerly proceeding to the nearest motel...

When I was younger and mingling with young women that caught my eye,
it was much before anyone coined the words "hooking up," and matters never flowed as quickly as in your "Budding Romance."

Nowadays, you can meet, socialize, familiarize, romanticize, marry, fight and divorce and do it all in a matter of days. But your love poem "Budding Romance" makes it sound like a magnificent adventure.

My goodness, Eileen, where were you when I was looking around? With your "short calendar," we might have done it all and saved a lot of wasted time.

I enjoyed this immensely!

you have set it all perfectly right Eileen -- moonlight, the surf and breeze -- a love in its infancy, perhaps -- an event to fondly cherish and recall, assuredly -- peace and love my friend -- Jon Michael

A night on the beach? you kidding me Sis? you ain't gonna get me for less than three weeks! with enough Captain Morgan Dark Rum to put "that" smile on my face as the moon comes down on the horizon to take a deep in the seas.

What's better than a motel in a thunderstorm... lol. Sweet romance with just enough danger to make it exciting. Enjoyed.

This reads like a poem at the start
Then turns to a story of the heart.
Passionate. . . .
Deliverate. . . .
Moves quickly and ends fast.

yas, those where the days my friend, we thought ..... You took about fifty years of my shoulders just now, well done, you got right into the crux of them matter when you're young and wanting, you must be still young to write it like you did leading up to the passion.

Eileen,
That wonderful turning point evoked, the moment when both agree and know what they want...even if it's only for a while, but who knows? I love the night images, the moon especially.
