Predestined Love

I knew you, my dearest, in long gone days,
Your face did my dreams adorn.
I knew of your grace, your warmhearted ways;
I knew you before you were born.

Before you were born, my treasured one,
I knew you would one day appear
Like bright, golden rays of morning sun,
Or the music of bells ringing clear.

I knew of the beauty of body and mind,
I knew of your wondrous eyes;
I knew of the nature so gentle and kind,
I knew of your spirit so wise.

I knew you, my darling, through loneliness
While I waited for you in my life;
I yearned for the feel of a whispered caress
As you vowed to be lover and wife.

When you finally came I knew it was you
(I had known you for ages before)
So I took up your hand (as you wanted me to)
And I saw 'twas my ring that you wore.

Yes, I knew you, my loved one, from long gone days
When you came on that predestined morn;
I could now feel the grace of your warmhearted ways
Known in dreamings before you were born.

I didn't really believe in predestination until I met and married my lovely wife, Xiao Yan.

Patrick.. predestination is not your only psychic ability! With very VERY few word changes, you have masterfully spoken my own words to Roger, my dear one. I knew as a young girl who he would be.. not his face, not his body.. but his spirit and who he is.. little details, what he sounded like.. how he spoke to me.. our common interests.. I never gave up.. and I found him.. well, actually, HE FOUND ME! It's incredible that I should read this glorious work of yours.. for you see, they are your words, but they're in MY head and heart! Amazing! I can't help thinking that our 'connection' as writers is also a crossing of paths that was meant to happen. You are firmly planted in that part of me that forever holds all things of wonder. Thank you.. yes! thank you! (smile) katy.
