My Magical Child
by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young
A poem with a lyrical family touch in how special each child is generation after generation. Picture of Grandpa and one of his beloved Grandsons. You can almost imagine him playing this poem lyrics to him.
Each parent has a magical child. One could start this with "My Magical (NAME), then followed with the rest of the verse. I can imagine a newborn having a version with their name at birth. But then I am a poet dreamer.

My Magical Child
My Magical Child {Name} ---
From your first wail,
We cradled you with love.
From your first step,
To your next footstep.
We are there for you
Oh, sail heart of mine.
God has blessed us,
With a magical child.
You have made us,
So proud of you.
From your first words.
We cried aloud hearing,
Mom Dad from you.
From kindergarten,
To high school degree.
Oh, sail heart of mine.
God has blessed us,
With magical children.
You have made us,
So proud of you.
From your child’s birth,
Becoming grandparents.
We share so much,
Each generation.
We are there for you.
