What you are subtly referring to is Beto O'Rourke, the from out of nowhere young senatorial candidate that is making waves by visiting every county in the massive state of Texas and listening to the people. Reaching down into the grassroots and talking to the folks that solidly vote Republican because they think their lands and values are being taken by social reform. With Kennedy good looks and a willingness to "bring folks together," Beto is a far cry from the Tea Party Ted Cruz, Cuban via Canada big oil money caterer touting walls, corporate disappearing jobs, military spending and the like. Nothing could be further from the truth of Texas than a paltry $5000 charity contribution for a publicity stunt with Jimmy Kimmel.
So take a good look at Beto and you will find a refreshing addition to the long history of Texas's contribution to the great country that is United States of America.
