Path Never Meant To Be Challenged

by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young

As a nation, are WE the People servants - to our political system that is more about pollution destruction, than Americans coming together to build up America's future for our children.

Tried to post picture of me with a MADA hat on. Make America Democracy Again in red, white and blue bands, but it would not post.

Path Never Meant To Be Challenged

Sometimes a challenge, meets one head on.
Something impossible, some say, to accomplish.
Looking away, one keeps facing, impossible odds
Try to forget it, it comes back, to haunt presence.

Never in million ways, keeps churning, “Do Not Try.”
But like, a head butt behind - kept following, “Please Try.”
Maybe take one step, then retreat back, Big Mistake.
Once you get taste, it simmers, tempting thy soul’s pit.

Should one say “soles” stop, while mind moves backward
As winds keep moving you forward, amidst uncertain gaps.
Curiosity Avast Temptation, killed many Poet passageways.
For they say, if bard opens path, the troubadours will follow.

Never say neigh, to poetic wanderlust transmigration influences.
Once tempted, one assails the impossible, implausible test-trail.
The trial not taken, will haunt presence failure, amidst Naught To Be
Swept back thy leave in time fades, inside rhyme and reason letdowns.

Be useless, limbless distraught, quake a-gist fear, amid shadow tears
Cower lifetime lifelines, amid lifeless - living corpse, BE walking deadened
Pawn of War, expendable piece, abused unmentionable caste away.
Human weed, to be discarded, as trash, not worth mentioning - ever more.

But what if, one stepped aHead, amid inspirit word warrior strong elocution
Right Republicans, Left Democrats, behind their dire demolished devastation.
Poet, BEE an American, We must move forward,  by saying “NUTS” to destruction
Poets must “Never Under Tyranny Surrender,” -
Those challenges that lay and exist before US.
