Poetry Is Democracy
Sense thy soul, take flight, amid might
Free spirit writing, thy winds of spry verse
Furrow fertile ground, a gist seeded words
Where each songbird syllable, sings so soft
Every fluttering harmonic, bee mellow beats.
Bead moist, dew motions, bearing love emotions
Tender tactile touches, adrift skeletal key fingers
Sense-gentle tenses, budding sunlight, amid resonant
Bards that quiver vibrations, within Literary sensations
Versifiers of rhyme, over matter’s - time continuum.
Garden of humanity be vast, in love - amid sharp thorns
Family, friends, ‘n foe, amidst love-me, love-me-naught
What be close allies amid Dawn, be enemies amidst Dusk
Pawns wage War, ‘n weep Peace with grave yard results
Timber, oh hear the Timbre voices, cry out, one last hurrah.
We need troops here, there, well everywhere saving Democracy
Overseas grunts, limb lost here, arm there, eyeball somewhere.
Wait, let us retreat, so we can do it, all over again, to get it Right
What is that bone spur, stay home sessions, asks for more body bags
Rotation after deployment recording, “Thank You For Your Service.”
What cost does Democracy have, on America’s social sub-conscience.
Row after forevermore rows, amid Column after evermore columns
Our Republic has sent our youth to defend its Democracy worldwide
Yet, when a nation attacks Democracy overseas, We cower censured.
That Corporate America agrees with their Socialist - Democracy attack.
But the world has Poet Philosopher Word Warriors, who guard Democracy
From ideology dogma that clone subjects obedient as subservient followers
Where Liberal Arts Poet, Scholars, Writers, Artists, Thinkers be imprisoned
But to survive, need to send students, to American Liberal Arts Universities
To open, closed set program minds being educated that “Poetry Is Democracy.”
