Thy Poet

by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young

How many times, can a poet dye thy words, before they meet thy Poetry Maker.

To P or not to P that is the quandary, it DEPENDS on what the P is, and how bad you have to go. Excuse me, I have to P on some screen; I hope I don't scream in elocution,

Thy Poet

Thy poet
Dew dye
Wilt thee frail words
Amid pyre of poetry
Oh poet, plead do die
Nobody even cares
They will sacrifice thee
Upon pleas alter math
Slaughter of rhyme.

Why breath flair in lungs
Saturated within frail tears
Drown heartbeat murmur
Be still heart of mime
Be still born ~ hurt bore
Dye words ~ thy demise
Gas chambers meet poetry
Hear wail, entice flame’s tongue
Crackle pop snap ~ crumble
Ash to ashes
Begets bequeathment

Bereave naught empathy
Spread Dye ashes ~ no more
Cremated forever ~ more waste
Do not plant petrified seed
Never baptize water’s ritual
Drip drop into tick tocks beats
Oh dye Poet wraith inspirit
Armageddon end begets yea
Oh God,
It cannot possibly sprout
Lord
It cannot break ground
Oh hell,
Here we go at it again
As life branches itself out
The buds will come forth
And the Apple will entice
The Garden of Eden

I know God
You send all your poets
Down to humble earth
To sow lines into fruition
Humanities time versed crematorium
Will await poets to die after words
Fame being fleeting sublime matter
Ass gas flames dost nostril sense
Compose Phoenix poetry tenses
~~~~~~
Damn skeletal fingers
Thee told ~ thee to die
Not P dye ~ thy words
For future poet pyres
Seldom get P relieved
Note: P here is a P chord, poets use.
