Checks and balances

preying frayed strings

Fingers so sore,
they are bone brittle
Mid skeletal keys,
preying that bass
That comes,
from hell,
more than heaven
Feeling the twang
that plucks
hunger pangs

Songwriter’s purgatory
Somewhere between

They said build a song,
and get fame
Nobody tells you
the cost to b-lame
Where Music Companies
take its toll
And all you are
left with is IOU ‘s
nothing

Nashville Purgatory Blues
Where Music Row
stars have mansions
While in dilapidated
motel shared rooms
Songwriters exist somewhere
Between Franklin
Tennessee Heaven
And hellacious Nashville
dump blues.
