WE Are Americans
(For Holidays)
From Appalachia to
the Mississippi lowlands
From the everglades
to the Rocky Top banjo
We are All Americans,
First and foremost
Some call us Rebels,
others call us Yankees
Some call us Republicans,
others call us Democrat
But we are Americans
that join to the hip song
“God Bless America”
in these United States.
People have long
conspired to divide US
Saying we are
white black yellow red
POTUS orange,
but we are pink inside
A U.S. skeleton,
Red White and Blue
Framework sharing
Francis Scott KEY’s
Star Spangled Banner,
as an American family.
From Boston proper
onto lax Los Angeles
From San Antonio Pace
to New York strip
We are All Americans,
First and foremost
Some call us cities,
others call us country
Some call us Liberals,
others call us Conservative
But we are Americans,
that must rock
this Love melody
“Born in the U.S.A.”,
my country -
tis of thee
Where thy mouth shouts,
thy eyes tear up,
being American.
