cutting off electricity
After four days,
when the power
came back on
Same no personal
snail mail,
email
came back.
That cell phone calls
still spam Social Security
And the only way
you know you
are still alive
Is a monthly SS check
and AT&T Internet bill
Affordable housing
being Condo fortified
around you.
How soon
will one have,
before prices skyrocket
Leaving Poets to have to leave
South of the Colorado
To be resigned elsewhere,
acquiescent American Dream
Well away from
Austin Energy power
Winter outages.
Wonder if heaven has email
and cell phone Angel service?

As long as power is transmitted above ground on aging cables, ice storms, falling branches and high winds, will bring power outages. They are almost impossible to escape unless everyone goes to decentralized power sources like the roofs of our condos.
If one likes the dry summer heat, heading south of the Colorado River sounds like a good idea.
