being working class unable
to get college affluence deferment
And could not afford to hire
Docter to get stay home safe
medical bone spur war 4F deferment
Requesting Europe,
spent consecutive assigned deployment
overseas in the Vietnam War theater

Left with less than 6 months,
was discharged back to civilian status
at Travis AFB in January 1970
To face
“Thank You For Your Service”
hostile Anti War hate reception
for serving My Country Draft
Mid DD214 Honorable Discharge
Veteran status,
where Vet found in April
at home six miles away
