At 76 does one give up and resign
the Poet Veteran American Dream
DeTermination after Termination
That the s-word of aging,
still has WordsWorth to elder power
paper cut verse mature tintinnabulations
Or must one surrender questioning,
what the hell was going on,
on January 6 2021 in Washington DC
That an elected President did spurn on
Proud Boys and loyal supporters in
a coup d'etat at The Capital
That threatened 247 years of Constitutional
peaceful transition of power of election voting results.

Knock, knock you up stares betwixt two ears
hearing CPAP breathing a lone
prone mind in out fame
Extinguished exist tense echo ring
blanket e blank hollow fraught
recycling redundant RIP refrains
Baked beans terse passing gas grasp
horrendous nose it all compost
prepositions squatting officials
Know it all pompous blowhards
with tall tales be as high as Empire
building NY trump skyscrapers
Cut downsized to what LIES in
American fork tongue twisting around
accountability fable façade.

Remember when Politicians,
today’s Morticians worked for We The People,
not Corporate America
That an Conservative Confederacy elite
seeks to legislate by gerrymandering
Voting and Citizen Rights
Where they use religion to divide US
from abortion to birth control
to premarital sex reconcilement
All the while attacking Our Democracy Diversity
that unites US into the  United States of America
Twenty years ago We The People controlled
this nation’s Divine destiny
for Our children, Our family.

What is this a Poet Veteran spews
is it bombastic Free Speech Verse
heresy of patriotic Lit truancy
Lunacy of epic Lit poetic proportions
of true grit NUTS;
Never Under Tyranny Surrender ~ America
Star Spangled Banner fluttering
red pride white proud adrift blue cyan
God Bless American skies

That the strength of America lays
in the Lady Liberty whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning,

And her name,
Mother of Exiles
holding aloft the torch of freedom,
the flame of hope,
the promise
Of a future for ourselves,
our family, and our neighbors
that she represents hope to the hopeless,
Welcomes the poor, encourages the meek
that America must and always be
this classless cast act
Where as Americans,
we are accorded the Divine and unalienable right
to an equal Voting privilege
That somehow Supreme Court forgets at times,
by setting Conservative standard bearer preconditions.
