Have I Found You At Last?
By La Belle Rouge

four emeralds melted together
forming a jeweled window to paradise

blended souls who have loved but never lost
sojourners in the obscure valley of time
where death and distance reign

but natives of love’s eternity
where there is never a separation
of spirits mingled in the oneness of life

have i found you at last, is it you?
is it you, sweet love, at last?

kiss me not only with lips of warm clay
but share with me the breath of life
i trace your face and entangle my fingers
in the darkness of your soft, thick hair

i bury my face in your chest
against your magnificent heart
and cry tears of tortured joy

remembering your scent of long ago
the feel of your flesh against mine

there has never been a time
i was not completely yours

others have loved me and i them
but still my spirit searched for you
down familiar, unfamiliar paths
amid landmarks long ago crumbled to dust

my soul has yearned for your aura
my body ached for your touch

yes your heart and soul are open
they have never been closed to me
nor have mine to you.

is it you, my love?
have i found you at last?

forgive me if i weep with joy
and cling to you as though
tomorrow will never come
