But I think I could love her'*

Crimson Clover
Lyrics By La Belle Rouge
I wanna know what it’s like
To have no burdens on our shoulders
Run through fields of crimson clover
On a sunny afternoon in June
I wanna know how it feels
To lie down close beside you
And wake up in the morning
With nothin else to do
Chorus
The days they keep racing
Into that lost horizon
Time’s slowly slipping away
And I don’t know what to do
To lasso time, tie it down
And spend some of it with you
I wanna know how it feels
To be kissed well and often
To get that breathless feelin
When you walk into the room
I wanna learn about love
In all of its rawness and disguises
Wanna give you all of mine
And know that i got yours too
Chorus
The days they keep racing
Into that lost horizon
Time’s slowly slipping away
And I don’t know what to do
To lasso time, tie it down
And spend some of it with you
My feelings exactly, Belle... have had that song by Paulo Nutini on my lips: "Slow down... lie down... remember it's just you and me... I just want you closer, is that alright? Baby let's get closer tonight... Just let me hold you, don't shrug your shoulders, lay down beside me"... But this is quite a catchy little number too! :)) And rolling in the clover IS quite something, after all... it's the heady fragrance, I think... You're at your most compelling, Belle, when you write to rein-in your man. Heartfelt and clear-sighted. TY Kate xx
