A Man Can Dream
By La Belle Rouge
yes dear one, a man needs dreams
and cruel be the woman
who laughs at his schemes
who dares to belittle visions he may see
only foolish, cold hearted women
rob a man of cherished fantasy
when i’m gone then you’ll find
another to inspire your words
another love to fill your mind
til it ends it will be thee and me
and steamy love trysts we share
in heated lines of your poetry
a man must dream or a man will die
he must have love’s reward
for all the tears he has cried
he must know he is admired as a man
and must have a soft place to land
in adversity to be strong and stand
so i’ll be your sweet dream,
til at last your dreams come true
and the one you will adore
is finally there.... adoring you
a man must dream or a man will die
so dream on of me and i’ll not ask why
i’ll never feel the fire of your kiss
never nestle warm in your arms
only think of you and miss
one far away, i danced with in dreams
and if it wasn’t truly love
well...that’s how it seemed
Sometimes reality is not all it seems
and I so agree with you when it comes
to treating a man with love and respect
for his dreams, whether shared with me,
or not -- we all need our dreams. This
was one exquisite poem from your loving
heart my friend.
Love,
Katherine

My head is already on the pillow, my eyes are closed and my ears are waiting for those whispers.
A magnific poem to dream away...ever daydreaming.

My Sweet Precious, He could have had his dream realized in you, but foolishly let his dream slip away like sand through an hourglass! He deserves no tears shed for him, just pity. LOVE YOU! Sissy

There is a bittersweet poignancy to this one, La Belle.

And truly, how it seemed is all that matters...the fantasy is often the reality. Brilliant poetry. Lydi**
