What Would It Be Like To Be Loved By You?

Poem Artwork

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Read Your Poetry Today
By La Belle Rouge
i read your poetry today
not one poem, six or eight
with each successive unveiling of your soul
mine was touched, embraced
until tears fell freely down my face
and i wondered....
what would it be like
to be loved so completely, passionately,
by a man like you?
and i thought....
i would give the remainder of my days
to spend just one day
owning your thoughts and words
entrenched in your heart
i would give all i am and have
for one night, enfolded in your arms
i read your poetry today
and my tears fell on your pages
as i imagined the words were for me
Isn't this the dream of every poet for as long as poems have been written? To have each word read and absorbed as if it were personally penned for the one who reads and "lives" each event described? Isn't that the ultimate goal we seek when we pour our souls out on the page?
What a wonderful poem, Belle. But yours always are.
This is quite amazing, Labelle
I felt an inner calm, and rush of excitement and a sadness for
your longing heart!
So many Poems seem to speak so deeply to us, it's such a joy to write!
and read so many! I can vouch for that~~~
This is a gem I plan to treasure!
YOu have a way of writing and feeling so deeply,
I must seek thee' more often I see!
Time for me to read and not write awhile!!! I wrote so much lately,
It IS truly amazing how we can feel to love and know the soul of some others intimately through their chosen and expressed written words on the page. It is almost alchemical what takes place between reader and writer sometimes. And then there's la passion de la poesie to add into the melting pot... YOu have captured that spiritual, emotional and intellectual je ne sais quoi so movingly here, Belle; that invisible transaction that that seems to take place without any movement of mind or matter on our part. The mystery of such happenings is truly fabulous and consuming. Love this, thank you. Kate xx
Belle,
This poem expresses one of the most beautiful aspects of poetry, at least in my view: the art of touching the soul. When our words soothe our own hearts, we are comforted; when our words touch the lives of others, we are blessed.
Brilliant work,
Jill
There are poems that capture the essense of our souls, creating the person that we see as perfect. Yet the beauty in humanity is that often when goodness is needed the most, they appear in imperfect perfection. Enjoyed your poem.
La Belle, this is exactly what every poet wants...for the reader to fall in love with his/her words. For the reader to believe every nuance, every turn of the phrase. This is outstanding poetry, my friend. Thank you for the link at the bottom too! Lydi**
A quill of emotions...stunning, Belle...I Read Your Poetry Today is a very close capture of my poem, Torchlight and Cobblestone: Mercy Street, which is a very true poem, in where I keep a room above the casino which was a brothel in my old gold-mining town of Cripple Creek, Colorado.
