passing morning on the percipice in shadows of palms.
Pen me an ode to my naked beauty, your notebook
balanced on the roundness of my hips
as we lounge on tangled, sodden sheets
and wallow in reveries of implacable sweetness.
I could no more forget you than to breathe
or to savor the taste of truthful words.

I chew them slowly, deliberately, thoroughly
and feel them slide down though my heart and loins.
Leaning into the afternoon, we write songs
but not the saddest ones, no never those.

Perfectly paced and developped, Belle. This is so rich and lush with both image and emotion and could quite conceivably describe Pablo and his dearest Lover themselves, as I'm sure is your desire. A real epic of a romance conjured here.. so much more sultry than Romeo and Juliet, this is more Solomon and Bathsheba, the hanging gardens of Babylon.. all the dripping opulence of the hot or eastern Med and the heady spice of Latin America. When I read you, La Belle, I know where it is you are going to take me. I know it, but I can still be still amazed at the beautiful way you have of getting me there. And, after I arrive where you lead, I am exhausted by the sheer magic of the trip . . . THIS is one of those . . .
