"A woman knows the face of the man she loves as a sailor knows the open sea."

Sail Home
By La Belle Rouge
sail home weary sailor
and find your soul reflected in mine
i know your face,
oh yes, sweet countenance
it floats through my thoughts
and dominates my dreams
i have known it well since first
i glimpsed its rugged beauty
long ago.... it seems a lifetime
and you, you know mine as well
a multitude of nights, fingertips
have traced high cheekbones
lingering to caress full lips
so many blazing crimson fires
ignited by twin emerald flames
we’ve been closer than our breath
you’ve sailed a rough lonely sea
tempestuous waves covering hope
dragging you down into the dark abyss
of regret, remorse, self recrimination
i’m calling you home now, to my heart
abandon that broken ship of hollow dreams
let the wild waves take it to the bottom
float free with me in love’s liquidity
an endless horizon of turquoise ocean
warmed by the rays of a tangerine sun
where we play with smiling dolphins
plunder the covert treasures of the deep
and never visit the ruins in the shadows
without the feel of my hand in yours
so sail home weary sailor
and find safe harbor in my heart
Perfect poem for a perfect dream coming reality, awaking up one morning by the shore and there she waits, a mermaid, and one don't want to go to sleep anymore, least the dream stops.

Lovely thoughts to guide a sailor home in the arms of his love...Great writing...Hugs and Love, Peggy
so refreshing to hear, with that music! Undulating comfort like a soft azure, tropical sea. Hard to imagine for me right now without your poem. Anymore like this and I'm reading! And buying!

Beautiful words said to a weary sailor is always pleasing to the ear . . . The implications and promises notwithstanding . . . Pure, one hundred percent La Belle here . . .
Ah! What a lovely harbor that is you describe, Belle. Such a sweet homecoming for the wayward sailor. Thank you for sharing this gift. Love and peace to you,
