Her Choice....

For All You Beautiful Mature Gentlemen

The Older Lover
By La Belle Rouge

he was in tune with her emotions
and thoughtful of her reservations
no beginner in the game of love
yet he was no player....
he adored, valued femininity
and cherished her fire
he was a true and valiant champion

the older lover

he still opened doors for her
and pulled out her seat at the table
on a winter’s walk his coat
oft found its resting place
around her chilled shoulders
but just his tender kisses alone
perfectly warmed her coldest nights
he was a rare jewel,
a precious treasure

the older lover

he had, in younger days
and in not so distant ones,
tilled fresh spring gardens
feasted on firm young flesh
but now he had become
an accomplished connoisseur
of aged wine and rare spice
they were alike she and

the older lover

a man who knew the affect
on a woman, of hand kisses
and lingering lip brushes
on her supple neck
and bare white shoulders
a patient man, slow of hand
and whispered warm words
ready to make her pleasure his
he had learned and mellowed well

the older lover

no fair unlined face compared
to the dignity of his
no unfaded eye could match
the fire that burned so brightly
in the windows of his sensual soul
no young hands could work magic
like the aging ones of the wizard
and though she could have enjoyed
the charms of a man half her age,
being a connoisseur herself,
she wisely chose

the older lover

Of course she did! As women, we appreciate the finer things of life. And as with wine that only becomes better with age so do men.
Great Write Sissy!

This old warrior deeply bows as a greeting to the precious poetess that wisely choose the older ember that burn slowly and longer than the younger firework that will intensely flash in a white hot second and let you gain in the unsatisfied darkness.
By the way, that sword in the picture nicked my ear.
Excellent.

This is beautiful for we know that love doesn't stop with age. There aren't too many gentlemen in the world today and I believe they figure if women want equal rights, they can open there own door. Thank you Le Belle as usual it was very well enjoyed.

I have kept on reading your work, admiring your talent. Don't recall when and why I failed to review them,. Perhaps, part of the reason is found in this poem.. It is highly exceptional, addressing life, or a part of it, for many loving individuals. Yes, I fit the description and several phases of the process, and your tender and understanding revelation comes through in amazing clarity. . Thank you for sharing a special talent. Your writing makes me proud to wear the label as a potential, "Older Lover." - Bill

I had so many thoughts after reading this...smiling and knowing that age does make a difference...be he or she simply seasoned, not necessarily older. The I read what Paul had to say below and it all came into perspective and from the heart. The flow of this is exceptional and full of grace.

Taylor

Belle,

Over the years I've found it's not the age nor experience that matters but what is truly inside the heart. Loving deeply opens many doors and matures the soul. Your poem so eloquently states so. Blessings, Peace & Love Always, Paul.

Sublime energy surges through the mature libido, consistent, explicit, under La Belle's influence, he kneels, his member stands at attention, he rises - intentional enlargement - libido applied to the concept of the mature Eros - The Older Lover...

I, too, know this "older lover." Between the picture, music and words, I am warmed in my heart know that as I get older, his gentle love will be mine, and only mine.

Thank you for such a sensitive, romantic and alluring poem.
