Untying My Heart

With only a stolen glance
from eyes that undress my need
he intrudes so easily into my soul
though not an intrusion
a standing invitation
a perpetual presence
i crave within me forever
i am a hapless, helpless butterfly
who has given up struggling
with an intricate web of desire
accepting the reality, the probability
of continually hearing his whisper
and feeling the caress of his breath
soft and hot against my skin
he and love are forever
tangled together in my thoughts
how can i hope to escape?
his name is a silent sigh in a heart
that can not beat without his love
he continues to be welcomed in
beyond all my fortresses
there is no territory in my soul
he has failed to explore and conquer
we are fools for love, he and i
flesh suffering the insufferable
yet in an never-ending tango of lust
he tenderly unties my heart
as easily as he unties my ribbons
