Such Endearing Charms...

 I Once Loved An Englishman
By La Belle Rouge

I once loved an Englishman...too much
Was it his gentle charm, his hot desire
that tender voice that melted me to nothing?
Or his eclectic, bizarre sense of humor
no one else seemed to quite understand
that often sent me into fits of laughter?
Was it attraction to his brilliant intellect
or the way souls kissed each other's scars?

I loved an Englishman once...too deeply
Devotedly, fiercely, secretly, for with him
it could never be openly lest it destroy us
or half hearted, for he was ablaze with love
His poetry opened Heaven and rocked Hell
I loved him, as my own soul and believed in him
for, after all, he was almost Shakespearian
and who could ever dispute such greatness?

I once loved an Englishman...too freely
who knew how to dry my tears, make me smile
so quickly ignite the blazing fire of my femininity
gallantly kiss my hand, easily rip off my "Knickers"
Never known a man quite like the Englishman
before or since, a unique man, beautiful soul
He couldn’t give me what I wanted...he said
Even with all his endearing charms, he never did

Oh Wow!! What riveting words...(I'm married to an Englishman!) This is just wondeful, tempestuous yet every word exact and controlled. I am hooked! Best wishes and Love, Diana.

Well I think that was just because you never knew a Canuck before. LOL Just kidding I love this one, the images seem to be just random thoughts and yet such real smooth overall flow to it.

Yep, tis the Brit Bulldog who will get your knickers in a twist at the drop of his tophat, so it's no wonder a gal has to resort to thermals with all this "back of the bike-shed" stuff. Perhaps there's just too much all-conquering Celt and Dane in the blood and not enough Roman sophistication.... who wants a steely-cold crossbar when you can have under-floor heating instead?! We need to get D'Arcy in to examine his pipework... :)) Make sure you get what you want AND what you need, Darlin! K xx

Ahhhhh the English! I like my blokes! English men make good good friends - once you are, you know it and its for life -what my girlfriends tell me about the rest...well, frankly, i despair! -seems they need a lot of training :D...which is surely up to their women friends, and 'The How to Manage Your Footy Addiction Council of Great Britain' and other such organisations...! Looks like this one missed out on something - lovely poem Belle :o)
