i have no right to miss you
but God knows i do
so why lie about it?
and while being truthful
should i also confess
that love is not a faucet
i don’t know how to turn it off
it’s been running for years
and now a deep, restless reservoir
has been efficently dammed up
behind high walls of resolve
I know all the reasons
all the reasonings and honor
they brought us to this place
is this the place we want to be?
i wish my heart had a switch
love this one.....love that one
or better yet turn it totally off
i’d cut the power source
shut down my heart completely
without a second thought
about the cold numbness
of having no one to love
and no right at all to miss
the one God knows i do

Sad expressions of losing someone whom you love...Excellent write La Belle...Hugs, Peg
...one does not turn off love...like it was an exit. The stage of this love knows hurt...not sad...and a heart that hurts has known love.
beautifully penned La Belle...

Belle,
The sentiment of love not being like a faucet, yet not knowing how to turn it off (at the end of the relationship) is something I'm dealing with myself, in a way, right now. It's an emotional roller coaster to know there's a need to let go, but a sense of helplessness in re-training our brains regarding how to do so.
Sad and poignant, yet beautifully said.
How utterly sad. The torment and anguish of loving and not being loved back, yet still wishing for it to be so. Then what would life be like without love, beautifully said....
Every love has its right to be missed; a right of passage or continuance. Gracious, open-hearted expressions in this poem, Belle. We should never cut off our love; 'tho painful for a time, love is always justified.
Yes, loving someone either that is not good for our spirit or someone that is unavailable to love us back, is the ultimate quandary...I have been there and still continue to live in love and love to live...See what your poem had done, makes me think. Thank you for sharing..
Peace, love, and light,
Miss You, told me the same, I had not right to her, maybe try a Mr You Instead? That said, yup sometimes the heart can feel it will burst until you tell that you can't turn off your heart, same as one can't switch off the Sun. But on the bright side, there's still great guys out there like, ME, and I, and that bloke I see in the shaving mirror. So don't lose heart, I just think of all those poor lasses that are missing out on me. So should you, but about the blokes....
Edward Rutherford is prepared to do just about anything to escape an arranged marriage to a woman he despises. But his brilliant plan to feign insanity has some rather unwanted consequences...

To be without love is to be poor but they who have love are the richest people in the world. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.
