Often And Again
By La Belle Rouge

so often i've wished
i could simply touch your hand
or warmly embrace you in my arms
i have cried bitter tears,unseen
for your sorrow and loneliness
prayed prayers only God heard
for your future happiness

often i've longed to kiss you
with the gentlness of an angel
revealing how the power of love
can resurrect a silent dead heart
or with the lustful fire of a goddess
to warm away your winter chills
and cause the rose of desire to bloom

Love, i will never touch you except
with the tender fingertips of my words
the kisses of my heart brushing yours
the poetry of my spirit recited aloud
in the deepest catacombs of your soul
if there is more than one lifetime
i have touched you often and again

I read this with the sad heart of someone who was just lost her true love to a terrible illness, just weeks ago...your wor touched my very soul deeply...I suspect I am reading these words slightly differently from most..adjusting them to fit my present circumstance..Bittersweet words and emotions consume me...Love, Diana
