I’ve walked on mystic shores
Where the ancient dragons dwell
Heard passion’s persuasive noise
Memorized and penned it well
Lain in the arms of the knight
Of all my restless unholy dreams
Defeated darkness, danced in light
By magic’s mysterious means
Acquainted with mirrors and smoke
Yet not lacking in brutal honesty
Hidden behind an opaque cloak
But displaying a transparent me
I am the voice you hear on the wind
Fragrance you long to inhale again
I’ve been a fair lily of innocence
Clothed in long gown of pure white
A red rose possessing no reticence
Firing blackness of frosty midnight
Dressed in a sheer veil of scarlet
The answer to your sensual prayer
I’ve been your bride and your harlot
When in dreams you’ve found me there
We have poured our blood out like ink
On vast whiteness of lost ocean sand
And do not let yourself dare to think
My hand will ever let go of your hand
I speak the language dragons roar
Walking for eons on a mystic shore
Music "Braveheart"

Much Love,
A Knight that have a bride and a harlot all in one don't need no dragons to slain, he will be too busy....you get the idea?

"I am the voice you hear on the wind"...indeed you are, LaBelle. Tone, mood and language choice absolutely right for the genre and theme...and while the first 14 are fine the second 14 really raise the bar in passion, colour and sheer intensity, and an ending that is perfect for the entire work.
A diverse smattering of thoughts daring to be cohesive enough to create a theme as a whole. i love the verse
'Firing blackness of frosty midnight.' I could almost feel the chill and see the foggy breathing from the players carousing here.
Beautiful write, Belle, and the music is fantastic! Very nice; brava!

Okay. This is one of your best. As far as I am concerned it may very well BE your best. It grabbed me immediately and, as I read your lines I began to nod my head. Yes, if anyone had been looking at me they would have gotten a laugh as my head-nodding. This was/is exquisite in every way. Great lines, culminating with the two last ones, which finished the poem up with style and grace. Gotta love it.
Much Love,
Vesna :)
