Thank You Georg For The Inspiration From Your Beautiful Poem "I Dreamed Of Her....Oh God"

I Dreamed Of Him
By La Belle Rouge

I dreamed of him when but a girl
while lying on my back in a field
of fragrant new mown summer hay

I saw his dark eyes overflowing
with abundance of authentic love
the good man who would someday
want the little unwanted girl child
I imagined approval smiling at me
from the midst of cottony clouds

dreaming , knowing even then
in naivety, in childish innocence
he was more than a just a dream

I dreamed when youth bloomed
into womanhood and the bodice
of my dresses transformed into
rounded contours of love’s promise
I dreamed and imagined, or did I
remember the sound of his voice
the loving touch of his fingertips

dreaming of the lips that would
kiss the honest image of who I am
warm lips that would heal my pain

I saw him in the face of those who
promised what only he could bestow
in the eyes of men who watched me
and drew close to me with their words
their insincere words of feigned love
remembering how once it felt to be
at peace, surrounded by his fortress
unfettered, unencumbered with fear
not frayed by abuse and confusion

as decades traveled past me
into lost regions only my mind
could journey back into again
the years absented themselves
but dreams never deserted me
summer gone, autumn slipping
winter hovering on my horizon

I dream of him yet, as always
heartened by his brief tender touch
I wait for our new door to open

My dear Belle,
Your lovely music set the perfect background for lyrics so blissfully dreamy that I felt my heart aching with the yearning of a love once shared but now known only in dreams.

As you know, in truth, I have been gifted with the ultimate blessing of having shared a lifetime with the young woman I've loved and adored since we were both fourteen. Perhaps that's why your words pull so strong on my emotions.

My dear friend, you are a masterful artist!

Richard

Great work, La Belle! This is so your forte. No one on this site comes close to you for romantic poems. The artwork went really well and you told the story behind the painting, the key to good ekphrastic poems. Love, Michelle

More tan honored to have inspired a flow of words coming from such a deep well of a heart's poetess...and yes, he has the key to that door and will say invitingly, "should we?"...we should keep on dreaming.
Tender and longing one.

LaBelle,
This is exceptional reaching out, the tenderness and longing overwhelm me. I've just read Georg's beautiful poem and I can clearly see why it would move you, but then what you do in your way is something else. This work is especially fine. Kudos!

This is soooo romantic, and sweet as honey from a hive. To dream of the future and who we will find happiness and love with...some have their dreams come true...some still wait. Lovely indeed Belle

Taking us on a journey of life's seasons of womanhood...the dream is elusive, but we must keep on dreaming of that special one, Belle...the soul mate who can answer back to all that we give with love and eternality...timeless poetry...

There us always a new door. For when a door has been closed it waits until someone to open it again. The longing in this poem is magical and hopeful.
