A lighthouse smile that will yet beckon you
to take refuge in the harbor of my desire
I am a willow bending in the harsh winds
that have often threatened to break me
A willow green, grown upward toward God
with supple branches reaching downward
to shelter and nourish the children of men
I will still smile for you as in other times
with sensual lips that whisper of seashores
and verandas, I'll mouth silent scarlet words
to assure your arousal belongs to me again
I will smile with wanton eyes that undress
the burgeoning root of your imagination
and pull you urgently toward love’s garden
where devotion is fertilized by mutual passion
I will smile for you and share the felicity
of unbroken, unburned bridges, survivors
of cumbersome weight of want, fire of lust
