Moons Of Jupiter
By La Belle Rouge

lovers tryst ‘neath an orange moon
sherbet taste lingering on tongues
that have savored forbidden flavors
the cryptic ambiance of moonlight
reflected in soul windows open wide
what is this power exerted over me
by the distant, mystic moon and you?
this turbulent rise of wild ocean waves
continuous howl of the animal within
this hunger to fill gnawing emptiness
with a rich feast of your hot passion
what have you done to Earth and me
Lover, Seducer of Star Encrusted Night
And you, Mysterious Moon with your
shinning, irresistible, silver supremacy?
one moon to instigate such mayhem
one solitary moon to warm the blood
and transform yearning into afterglow!
if one moon can claim such accolades
what would it be like to be lost in love
on planet Jupiter, sixty three moons
lighting the heavens with their magic?

Belle, I don't know what it would be like to make love under the influence of the sixty-three moons of Jupiter. I am willing to try if you are. I'll bet the fireworks is unbelievable. Your poem is cosmic my dear friend. Ready the rocket for blast off! I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael

"Moons of Jupiter" is truly a masterpiece and I have been awestruck by not just the "Galilean satellites" with their contrasting makeup but the smaller odd shaped pieces of rock that orbit that planet as well. I would love to be privileged to watch them from Jupiters surface if I could survive it somehow. I can only relegate myself to painting them in imagination. Beautiful work and subject of admiration.

There are a plethura of moons to fantasize about. Some are like earth in size with a puny sun in the sky.

Jupiter would be terrible for humans because its gravity would tear us apart long before we got there. Better to turn it into a sun like Arthur C Clark did in 2001-A Space Odyssey, to warm the moons to our delight.

It would be awesome, Belle, but it might all be just too much.
Silky smooth expression and flow from mind and heart, you write romance as few can.
Yes!

Oh yeah!!! Blame it on the moon. Go right ahead you VIXON. It has nothing at all to do with those "forbidden flavors" or those "soul windows" being "wide open" It was all the moon's fault! Yeah Right!!

I tried that when I was a teenager and it didn't ring true to an angry father.... So, I'm not buying it now....

Really Smooth though.... Like it... LOTS!! Thanks Dick
