Whispers

A Love Sonnet
By La Belle Rouge

what shall I whisper that you don’t already know?
heavy sorrow and burdens, exhaustion and pain
with no one to talk to there’s nowhere safe to go
your life and mine…. true reflections of the same
so brief the sweet moments seem always to be
when into the dew-kissed garden we quietly steal
where nightingale sings her song for you and me
and soft midnight surrounds us with its dark thrill
where no one cares who we may kiss or embrace
and comfort is found if but for a moment in time
memorized each verse written on your soul’s face
find me hidden between the lines of love’s rhyme
reminisce of what has been between you and me
a premonition of what in another time may yet be

cold waters sweet, drawn from a mutual spring
where dried up, muddy wells are left far behind
the ultimate blending of two hearts joy to bring
when that place of surrender we pursue and find
in honest love there dwells no sorrow nor shame
though the whole world may condemn and despise
my heart will not bear void conclusions of blame
for the sensual universe I find behind your eyes
each moment poised on the cusp of such dreams
blurs reality’s wide, empty line of cold despair
each tryst more intense than the last it seems
as in each others arms we find tranquility where
there are no soft whispers you have never heard
your heart of hearts is attuned to every word

The beauty lies within the pounding of such a dear heart and the emotions it spills, the tears it has cried, until the pain of its burden claims its final day and only pure love remains.

Belle, love is powerful and when two love one another with the passion you describe as in, "when into the dew-kissed garden we quietly steal, where nightingale sings her song for you and me" - magic explodes into the night sky and "there are no soft whispers you have never heard" reveals the power of the passion of two - this work is a powerful testament to loves, "whispers" - I wish you love and peace my dear friend - Jon Michael

Your words evoke the power of two. Where there was loneliness and drabness, when two combine in love, magical things begin to happen.

I think you have captured well the plight of many other hearts, who love but can never let their love show in public....well done Belle.

Dew kissed garden where nightingale sings her song for you and me..

A unique love story in your sonnet Lady La Belle.

A feathered pen "Whispers" of tranquility.

What depths of passion, and tenderness, expressed with poetry as it should be, beautiful, leaves a fragrance, a perfume of the garden of Eden, maybe there again to be revisited in a life hereafter, where love triangles maybe resolved. Hugs! Jasmin Horst
