the vivid slice of a crescent moon
ruled a black sky high above them
she was quiet, the holy, crescent moon
not anxious to pass on gossip to anyone
concerning the lovers she gazed at....
while they admiringly gazed at her
a metaphor of their love, this slice,
thin slice, of heavenly magnificence
a parody of realities the world sees
when they two appear together in light
an aura of complete, halcyon cohesion
a nuance of passionate under currents
only a crescent, a thin sliver of reality
makes its presence known within the light
but there is a weighty and incomparable
sphere hidden behind celestial intrigue
far above the world, sheltered in shadow
a vision, a dream, a wellspring of healing
she is his salvation from emptiness and fear
he is her anchor, her liberator, her only love
they share a moment of spiritual unity and awe
a silent comprehension, salute, to crescent moons
and slivers of light appearing on cusps of truth
a brief bonding in their shadowed sphere of love

HER FINE ARC OF ILLUMINATION IS TIMELESSLY HIGHLIGHTED BY HIS SURROUNDING BLACKNESS. SNUG AND KEPT. MY! ONLY 'ONE' COULD HAVE CREATED SUCH...PERFECTION! YES? READING YOUR WORK HAS DONE JUST WHAT I EXPECTED IT TO DO...I'M FLOATING...DELIGHTFULLY. THANK YOU, AND BLESSINGS. LOVE AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPRATIONS
As usual you have delved into the subject matter of your poem superbly. From the observations of the crescent moon's toward the lovers below, even as they gazed up at her, giving her their total devotion to her . . . Perfecto!
This is a marvelous romantic metaphor. As we humans imitate or mirror our environments many intriguing and romantic parallels become evident to the observant. Your observations of the crescent moon's sliver with the majority of the moon obscured in darkness as it relates to the mortal voyage of the heart is very romantic.
