Fine Wine
it's vintage, this love we share
poured from a crystal carafe
overflowing with years and tears
into antique goblets of our hearts
so elegant this libation of love
sipped between thirsty lips
quickening decaying longings
penning poetry on our hearts
this long forgotten inebriation
sweetness lingering on tongues
hopefulness of naive youth
once turned to dust, rejuvenated
there was no peace in deprivation
no tranquility left in contempt
so fine this lively refreshment
so smooth it soothes our souls
your heart beats against mine
it conveys a feeling sublime, divine
sweeter than any vintage wine
I know the best was saved for last
