From Security to Tragedy to ???????
In the Auschwitz concentration camp a small child weeped.
There was tremendous fear, torture and of death that reeked.
Lived a little Jewish girl named Anna who didn’t understand.
Why she was taken to this place & why she was in this land.
One day Hitler’s army came and took her family there.
They were treated like chattel with no tender loving care.
She awoke one morning and her parents were gone.
She looked for them everywhere that whole week long.
No one to look after her and very little food for her to eat.
She no longer expected meals, and no longer longed for treats.
She was sitting at a fence outside the building where she slept.
When a little German boy came up to her and that’s how they met.
He slid a small piece of apple and some bread through the fence.
He could be severely punished if anyone saw this deplorable offence.
But everyday he came with snippets of food to help her survive.
For years he came and Anna knew, it was he who kept her alive.
Then one day, he didn’t come and Anna waited for hours on end.
But he never returned bearing food &Anna never saw her friend again.
She often thought of him through the years that she spent there.
Anna assumed he was arrested and she always kept him in her prayers.
Her nightmare finally ended and her stay in that awful place was done.
Not knowing where to go, what to do for she had nowhere to run.
A young soldier took her to a small village where other prisoners were.
He wished her luck in finding her lost parents & said good-bye to her.
Anna was immediately put on a train to England to discover a brand new life.
And Anna had no idea what to anticipate for she only knew years of strife.
But when Anna stepped off the train, a handsome young man was standing there.
It was the same boy that kept her alive, the one she always remembered in prayer.
