Dicovering 1+3=1

Everyone has their habitual take at each and every morning’s awakening, yet why do so many cave, give up, even before a new day begins? One should always look for the paradox in every moment, for dark is so often a timid light merely waiting to be invited.

Discovering 1+3=1
by Odin Roark
This kitchen's one cup,
one spoon,
serving one man's fingers stirring
and a dollop of cream.
Atop the counter,
three visiting ants
pass beneath a French Press,
seeming separate,
seeming alone,
seeming aimless ,
wandering about my cup,
such a mutual landscape.
How barren the cold marble
for those so distant from the nest
that their seeking antennae never touch,
never feel the touch of one another,
assuring their reality's connection
that all is well.
For in a world of increasing isolation,
until man’s oneness with nature is accepted,
the visitors,
the cup,
the coffee with cream,
everyone’s swirling un-resolve will continue,
struggling to stir darkness into disappearance,
forever denying the light to rise into a dawn
a way to illumination,
a realization that all = 1,
including the ants,
patience willing.
Always,
Deborah
