Clouds Of Creation's Breath

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

For everyone who contemplates the threshold of death, there are some positive thoughts to contemplate as well…especially for the courageous. Such is the mnemic causation principal positing a type of conception in which in order to explain the proximate cause of an organism's behavior, it is necessary to specify not only the present state of the organism and the present stimuli operating upon it, but also the past experiences of the organism. Although it sounds somewhat simple, practicing such a maxim calls for a willingness to accept opposites as interchangeable pieces on the chess board of living, i.e., fear and courage better serve one another when they stay side by side in one's reality. We can't eradicate adversarial presence, but we can manage it. Perhaps it’s time to believe in keeping what’s friendly close, and the antagonist closer. (Image by Pinterest)

Poem Artwork
Clouds Of Creation’s Breath
by Odin Roark

From the hooded secrecy of its panic,
even as it held tight its fading vacuum of time,
a voice whispered:

Alright.
Speak to me about
clouds of painted breath.

Grizzled time
leaned forward as
its clouds of yesterday
billowed thin toward precipitation.
One’s morsels for redemption
bubble forth from many wanton caldrons of illusion,
satiation of honesty only coming
after regurgitation of fakery,
and the enfolding of truth’s flame.

But panic not,
rather know the inferno of flame’s rhythm and tempo
lives not by the shackles of enslavement,
nor the taunting of control,
but rather like life’s breath
an imprisonment that ceases to exist.

Allow this breath, you’ve created, to sustain,
even as your edification rises into the unknown.
For lest you trust the illumine,
the abyss of icy coals invites and offers only darkness,
that realm where more deception lurks,
where louder screams prepare to
challenge your blackened void of choice.

But will such a journey
be long?

Never ride life on the easy rein,
seek out freedom where the sweat of loins
press hard into the girth of destinations unknown,
even as chthonic demons await beneath,
their honeycombs with scorpion stings of starvation
ready their lure with milk-white seduction
should you succumb to their poisoned promises of sweet nectar.

And signs.
Will there be warnings?

Such dependence is folly.
Goad your mount.
Trust rather the pure allegory of the moment,
that ever-faithful place void of manipulation or planning.

Gallop past the brambles of impatience
toward the realm of nature’s perpetual perfection..
Allow the threshold of death to always be with you
trusting the last step across into the unknown
is where the shedding of fears brings solace,
even as you accept
what once was…

like everyone’s cloud of created breath.

While I found some great difficulty in the leap of cognition, I will agree that life always grows from the death of others and our survival is both varied and sharpened by the active death and rebirth. Powerful concept of evolution some still do not stand or even believe exists.

Interesting indeed. The unbroken realization that you are indivisible from the universe, from universal consciousness, from the source of everything - that you are that source, that there is no other, no second, nothing that is not part of that unity, except as transitory illusion. If you could maintain that realization at all times, through waking and sleeping states of consciousness, across the threshold of death itself, what would you be?
A poetisophic tapestry only Odin Roark could compose. Enjoyed. rlc

The poem comes into full bloom in the final full stanza, where its truth (and insight) really strikes home. Amazing. John
