Forever

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

For some, be they religious, agnostic, or secular, vigil exploration suggests there is no end. Endemic to all is the possibility that without imagination, thought in this realm will die… unaddressed. (Image by pinterest)

Poem Artwork

Forever

What is that
which is already ours?

Imagination lets us…

Pause.

Breathe deeply.

Open.

To peer into the ether beyond breath,
to discover the possible palpability

beyond corporality.

Some will find
forever and ever will continue with,

and without the us we think we know.

Is it not possible to experience

a moment where one’s epiphany

realizes forever knows not aloneness,
save those who choose to think not?

Such a super "epiphany"! Yes! Eternity started when we were born! It's going to be a wilder ride than we've ever known!!! That's what your words tell me. Live! Love! Laugh!

Love ya!

While I'm confused with those last two lines, I find the concept of forever incompatible with what science tells us. Based on our knowledge of the universe, it is evolving rapidly with contradictions all around that haven't been thoroughly understood.

There have been many scenarios written and acted out of someone landing in "forever" (heaven). In many cases landing in such a state became very unfavorable (hell?) with time. There is some evidence that life, with DNA, is very prevalent in the universe, spontaneous and growing, perhaps, in a human sense, forever. The linage of a genome can be traced back through many generations now that we have decoded DNA. We are given life's history, and we then extrapolate life's future?
