Year after year,
Decade to decade,
Planting life's seeds
Often begets inclement weather,
While sun nurtures,
Harvest's season awaits,
Patience abides.

Desiring gentle yield,
Consciousness beckons tools,
Time's dense weave
Renders baskets of understanding,
Selection's precious moment of gathering
Arrives.

Nimble fingers of the mind
Implore release.
Tangled vines,
Branches,
Limbs of protection,
Concede.

Wisdom awaits the sorting,
Casting aside
Hasty pickings,
Gently nesting ready growth
Beneath shaded cover,
Allowing cooling air to provide breath,
As voicing's infinite echo arrives.

Expecting…

A painter's brush,
A sculptor's marble,
A composer's melody,
A writer's language,
Make ready.

The creation of the heart's feast,
An intellect's arrangement,
A patron's enjoyment.
