The two of us in matching transparency
I marvel at your company
As we smile at each other’s unwillingness
To call it what it is
Make-believe reality
Is hard to admit
Especially when worshiping
The phone that never rings
The mailbox void of mail
The empty hours of TV Reality shows

When once we shared a palm frond together
Cozied up to the fathomless sky
As it lured us to sleep
With infinity’s blanket of ∞
So…
Here we are again
A sultry night
Walking in lockstep
Me the reflection of you
You the reflection of me
Open windows of floors above
Spill out TV un-canned inane laughter
And getting no response from us
Moves on down the block
Ever think about so many
Living the life they did not choose
The imagined life they wish they could make real
Instead of the insignificance
Echoing through their emptiness
As their existence walks about
Like us

Unfortunately, that world is filled with extreme. And for those who can't tell the difference between that world and the real world, it can bring fear leading to wrong decisions like voting based on fear, acting out some kind of fear dangerously or in destruction of others and suicide.
For example, fictional Western movies tend to be violent and not realistic. When violence recently happened on a movie set, it was viewed with great shock. We must separate entertainment from reality are we will be puppets to the manipulators/influencers taking over cyberspace.
