Looks That Haunt

The remarkable piece of cinema, “The Legend of 1900” has long been an influence on many, me included. Attached here are a few moments that directly affected me and my own eventual marriage.

Poem Artwork

Looks That Haunt

Shakespeare had his ghosts

And Virginia Woolf had her own hauntings

Enigmatic arousals arresting attention

Like the moment

1900 watched her

Walk the deck

Stopping to gaze through his porthole

Inspiring wonderment

And anticipation

With a memory of her hand

Gently clearing her eyes

And her lips reserving what might have been

Contained in her heart not yet willing to utter

She is swept away…

To appear in reality

A gentle poem depicting a lovely scene, such a visual presentation.
