Demagoguery Bleeding Black

Blackness from the heart
coagulate the nation's arteries

Abused power
abused privilege
abused opportunity
stand atop their Wall Street citadel
their outsourcing cash cow
high above the dark clouds
enshrouding a country of
unused power
earned privilege
waning opportunity

Revolution of mind
need not return a like volley
need not exchange mental violence
with mental violence

We are a country capable of awakening
from slumbers of complicity
from idle complacency
from disingenuous complaining

When is the time to rise up through
the clouds of distrust and power-mongering
revolt against gilded shackles of imprisonment
slipped about our cognitive senses
locked in place with combinations invented
with collusion of death's side-car of plutocratic institutions
manufactured with robotic greed
delivered and administered
to fearful constituents
guaranteed to further economic depression
destined to lay waste a middle-class
and ultimately
destruction of a nation's consciousness

Just as blood eventually turns black with time
and storm vapors become dark
the clock may be running out to prevent
a final opaqueness of greed's dark resolve


Histrionics
hubris
rhetoric
and slumber
haven't worked

The coming days of 2025
will bring little relief to bare tables

The coming months of 2025
will force millions to face the edge of a cliff
their tethered safety lines
threatened by greedy representatives
