From Rock to Teardrops

Even rock is no match for imploding emotions that overwhelm strength. Most of us have experienced at least once in our younger lives. (Image by Odin AI)

Poem Artwork

 From Rock to Teardrops

Is a place where time once started
Where love and tenderness once reigned
Where oneness was oneness
It was a time when passions met
Lust was mistaken for love
Where mistakes became blood of the future
Where promises were forgotten
As memories faded with each gust of wind

That swept through the ruins of our minds and hearts.

We’re fading now as the rock that was once us

Becoming scree,

Becoming sand,

Becoming teardrops

Vanishing into the dust of time.

We aren't human if we don't have that deep emotion that comes with tears.

I've always prided myself in keeping my emotions at check so that I can logically deal with almost every situation that comes up. While I was sad during those lustful first attempts that ended in loss, it was tears of happiness that surprised me one day when I least expected it. Tears like that cannot be held back by the hardest of those who hold their emotions in.

Impermanence, that's what we are made of, "vanishing into the dust of time" with all the rest of the physical world. Things shift, including memories and emotions, only the past lay linger as a fading imprint. But eventually, they too will die, in the unending cycle of life, death, and renewal. From rocks to teardrops indeed.
