I see in you all that I could be or want to be
A fully caring person sustained by your calm
A sensible man trusting in self but wanting more
Driven to find what’s beyond a mere night’s pleasure
To drink in life and to exhale the stale past
To seek out adventures beyond my grasp
To find the newness that is tomorrow
But to live in this moment we have built together
To ask the right questions while seeking your nearness
Where warmth and comfort abide in trust
And when we have drunk our fill
To accept the silence that surrounds us
Yet carries us beyond the darkness
To a place where we soar with angels.
