Poem Artwork

Only You

A thousand kisses could not quench my thirst for your love
A thousand days could never fill what my heart desires
A thousand memories could not replace a single moment
When our hearts meet and our souls merge into one.

Your smile brings more joy than all the angels in heaven
Your touch fills my senses to overflowing
Wherever I am you are there
Wherever you go my spirit follows.

I see your face in bloom among the flowers
I feel your breath when breezes softly flow
You are my life
You are my love

Only you can make us complete.

Undying devotion, called love, has been the subject of poetic inquiry for millennia. You have added another piece into the puzzle of what love may truly mean. John

A standard of love's expression quickly becoming endangered. With so much infatuation dominating the "take no risks" relationship challenge, it's refreshing to read that a poet can still believe and live the romantic side of chance. Well penned.
