Once a king, always a king, but
once a knight is enough.

Poem Artwork

One Day in February

Bifurcated, trifurcated
Overrated underrated
Sliced, diced and refrigerated
That’s the story of
That’s the glory of love.

You’ve gotta use or lose it
That’s what the French people all say
But have they ever tried it
Sipped it goo-goo eyed unfortified
Like a baby Beaujolais?

You can always find your way
As the sun moves through the day
Your heart goes pitter-patter
Like climbing up and down a ladder
You get happier less sadder
It’s great romping in the hay.

Yes it’s love, love, love
Sure as there’s a sky above
Slow it down no need to shove.

Then with both feet on the ground
You’re spinning round and round and round
It’s a moment so profound.

Yes love is here to stay
Until the latter part of May
That’s what the crystal balls all say
Let’s shout hip hip hooray!
And do it all again someday...

Like maybe tomorrow?

A light hearted romp of the heart. If Valentine's was a puppy it would be prancing in a puddle of fresh rain water.

I think you pretty well have love nailed down. We lived on a farm with a barn with a hayloft when I was a teen. Could have used more romping in the hay.

Love the little joke in your intro. But is once enough? Truly funny. We take our procreating obligation way to seriously. Thank goodness, with moderate protection, we don't have 20 to 30 kids anymore to try to figure out how to get through college.

Laughed at every line,

Ron

Lighthearted and enjoyable read. There are many lines to relish in this, starting with the word ‘trifurcated.’ Good one: “Slow it down no need to shove.”… and “And do it all again someday…” Very fun! ~~ djl

I love the romantic lightheartedness of this Ed…
Yes Love is definitely here to stay…
and tomorrow is as good a time as any!

It’s a blustery cold day here in UK…
But now I’m thinking of warmer, happier,
hopefully romantic days in Springtime!
Thank you!

Couldn't agree with you more Edward, in a humorous way you captured the feelings and emotions of something as old as the world itself. Love it.
