An Assassin from another world, was sent on a mission to kill the 7 dark souls, except when he landed on earth something went wrong. He lost his memory and can only figure the dark calling from notes written in blood in The Book Of Despair. A twist in the story has an another Assassin hunting him, who is this killing godess.
It was Saturday afternoon in a small gun shop on the eastside of Detroit. I was hired to kill someone by a client I had never met. My client suggested equipment at a local gun shop, near the east-side, that I needed to finish the job. I followed instructions blindly with no memory of who I was. Who was my target, who was I supposed to kill? Those questions would hopefully be answered later I figured. One day It seemed I woke up in the dessert in a strange automobile. I drove from New Mexico to Michigan, with no rest- trying to remember why I had a journal with a list of people written in my handwriting. The names writing in blood, I have already killed.
I entered the gun shop bringing the cold blowing wind in with me. An old man, with a forty-five Colt revolver on his hip stood stiff. It was only seconds before I noticed his vicious dog growling at me and minutes before I knew the man was blind.
“Forgive the dog, he can smell trouble.” Old man apologized.
“How’s that?” I asked.
“He senses evil things, death, hate, he doesn’t have respect for the Grim Reapers,” the old man explained from behind the counter. The dog barked uncontrollably it seemed as if it wanted to eat me. The old man tried to silence the dog but the dog was disrespectful and annoying. I grew tired off the barking, so I positioned myself face to face with it staring deeply into its eyes. The dog ran underneath a table afraid crying and shaking.
“You are the contract killer are you not?” The old man asked feeling around for his walking stick.
“You’re a nosy old man!” I responded.
“That’s all I have is my nose, besides I knew you were coming, your boss said I should take care of you.” He then waved his hands and said, “Follow me.”
He showed me to the back of the store. The path to his vault had been rehearsed by experience. He knew every loose board and crack in the floor. His dog did too, and cautiously followed along silently. He stopped me once we were there. He stomped a loose floor board opening a sliding wall that revealed a vault. He pulled it open, inside revealed weapons of different styles and calibers.
“Pick what you want, it’s yours,” he said. I grabbed two stainless steal 40 caliber Glocks.
“I see you like those human weapons,” the old man broke my concentration.
“Excuse me old man!”
“Your boss left this bag for you, it has everything you need. I was told you were familiar with it. It was spoken to me that these were yours, and that you would ask for them back. I felt them with my hands, I was curious to get an idea of what alien weapons felt like. I hope you don’t mind?” He spoke cautiously and then continued. “I tell ya, that hardware is something out of this world, I know it.”
I dropped the weapons I had and went to the large duffle bag that stood upright in the corner. I opened it and the first thing that caught my eye was a Katana blade, surrounded by three strange looking pouches that held liquid spheres. He handed me a book which appeared a century old. It had my hand writing scribbled through out the pages, the symbols appeared drawn by my own hands, but what did they mean?
Without warning the sword and the book glowed with a bright blue light as I touched them. They made a humming sound and hovered before me. It seemed as if a magnetic force carried them floating effortlessly in mid air. The old man spoke as I studied the hardware.
“They say the sword could only be operated by the hand of it’s creator.
“Who said?” I asked.
“Whispers, I hear them in the darkness, they have haunted my soul ever since, I was able to speak my first words.” The old man sat down on a create and added, “The whispers say that sword was created by you more than 4000 years ago. I’m just baby compared to your true age. The sword recognizes his master, and will respond only to you.” The old man, chuckled and continued. “I just wish I could see your face, I wish I could behold the alien that I was born to serve since I was a child.”
“Old man you have lost your mind, I am no alien.”
I turned my attention away from the babbling old man and reached out for the swords grip which was a carved Siamese dragon carved from a crystal which I have never seen before. It held a laser sharp blade with a perfect balanced blade. On the blade, from top to bottom, were strange symbols that I have yet to understand.
“Who brought this in here old man?”
“Six men, I heard them struggling to drag it in. I heard one of them say it weighed a ton, but you pick it up as if it’s weightless.” He stood up and called for his mutt, then he said, “Legend has it the symbols on the blade interprets death becomes us. Its believed that It was the Egyptians that made contact with your race. Your race taught the Egyptians how to be civilized, and build those pyramids. Whispers say the sword was forged by the fires of volcanos from your world and shaped by lighting. You’re a Grim Reaper, a rare breed of death agents designed to take souls, human souls.”
I listened while he babbled about Reapers, but I grew weary of him and his mutt. All I wanted to do was finish the job so I could get some real answers. I held on to the sword and swung it around. The more I swung it, the more aggressive I became.
“I sense my life will end now, you have come for me Reaper,” the old man commented and then continued, “Please be quick about it.”
The dog barked again and I got furious. I cut the throat of the dog and let him die slow, and I stuck the blade through the old mans blind eyes for a more immediate death. Thunder shook the building, as the old mans dead carcass dropped to the floor, lighting lit the sky, but there was no rain. I left the gun shop. The streets were dark and windy, papers flying every where, car alarms going off and street lights flickering.
In the midst of the weather I get a call at the corner payphone. I pick it up, and a low tone voice tells me my mark is at the cotton club, on Woodward Boulevard. The voice tells me the specifics and I hang up.
I hear guns racking behind me. I turn around to see seven thugs pointing guns at me. I could tell by the way they held the weapons they didn’t know how to use them. They would die quickly, before they could finish blinking their eyes, I would take their last breath. They tell me to hand over my money, the keys to my car, and my bag.
My sword hidden in my coat called to me, as if it knew my name. I grabbed it without thinking and sliced the barrel of one thugs shot gun like it was warm butter. I felt powerful and unstoppable. The thugs opened fire at me in point blank range. I could see a rain of bullets coming toward me in slow motion. I felt as if I could dodge the bullets, so I did. I moved quickly, blinding those who were my enemies. I sliced into their necks, with hatred, and killed with great satisfaction. Leaving several dead bodies lying in a pool of blood on the cold street.
I arrived at the club. I got in through the roof. I had too many weapons to enter through the front door. I walked through a crowd of dancing fools while I searched for my mark and it was only seconds before I found her. A Latin chick, tall, athletic, and very beautiful. I was attracted to her easily, but that was not getting in the way of me killing her.
A creep with no game or style sat next to her trying to get her attention, but she ignored him looking around as if she was expecting someone. I thought about taking my sword and cutting through them both, or taking my silent hand guns and shooting both without anyone hearing a single sound. I chose the gun. I aim for the back of the creeps head while she turned from him. The bullet hit him between the ears, no sound not even a whisper. He slumped over as if he was sleep. The bullet cauterized his wound so there was no blood. I turn my attention to her, she’s pretty. I think about shooting her, but I struggle with the decision. It would be a fraction of a second for me to draw my gun squeeze the trigger and place it back into the holster before the bullet ever reached her head. I would be three miles away before anyone noticed she was dead.
I was about to draw my weapon and silence her soul forever when I saw a laser pointed directly on the back of her skull. I find that another assassin was trying to steal my mark. Another laser pointed at me, and I find another assassin trying to snuff me. They were foolish, human and weak; I could snap their bodies in half before they put two pounds of pressure on their triggers.
I throw a sharp star through the head of the one trying to steal my kill. I hear a series of gunshots. I see the bullets travel my way, armor piercing rounds. One hit me, and bounced right off my flesh. It was the sword that protected me. I was indestructible with it.
I ran to the shooter who concentrated his fire toward a target he could no longer hit. I twisted his neck and ended his life. An army of assassins now flooded the club shooting their weapons at me, but I was too quick for them. My sword sliced through every human body they sent my way. I loved to kill and got stronger with every human life I took.
I hear her voice, Gabriel follow me. It was the girl I should have killed leading me out of the building by my hand. I had no name but she called me Gabriel. Before we left the club, I left a star grenade to level the place.
“No that grenade will level the city, its too powerful, disarm it and let’s go. She grabbed it and disarmed it. She took my hand and led me to the roof. I told her I could hear footsteps and helicopters everywhere. She told me she heard them as well. She told me the human government, was trying to capture us. I asked why. She looked at me with a blank stare, and mentioned were from a galaxy far away from this planet.
She told me to grab my sword and call for my car. I did and the vehicle came crashing through the walls, landing in the alley below us. The human armies shot their weapons at us.
“Get in,” She says. I hopped into the vehicle. She removes the lighter and plugs her finger into it. The truck reacts in a strange way. A hologram uncovers the vehicle and reveals some sort of space craft. Inside are controls with symbols that I have never scene.
“Their fighter jets will be here in a matter of seconds.” she mentioned looking at strange symbols moving about in the cockpit of the craft.
The space craft lifted in a hovering motion.
“How did you do that with your finger, are you a machine; and why are we being targeted!”
She hit the controls and yelled, “Lets go you pile of junk.”
The craft hovered above the city and we took off shooting strait into the air. There were three fighter jets behind us shooting their bullets trying to lock their missiles.
“I got enough power to protect the hull of the war bird but not enough juice get to Torillieus,” she mentioned while steering the controls. “Ill just have to dodge them, teach these weak humans the meaning of dog fighting.
She flew through the buildings quick and easily. She tested the Jet fighters against the maneuvers of the war bird. The war bird moved through the air effortlessly, undetected by their radars.
“There! We’ll hide in the clouds,” she shouted.
“Why don’t we just kill them, use our weapons and destroy them,” I said.
“No, that was not our purpose Gabriel, I don’t know what happened to you but you were not a killer of humans,” she claimed. She looked at me with concerned eyes, and pushed a button releasing magnetic burst, that shorted the controls of the fighter jets temporarily. She hid the vessel into a cloud and made it hover. The moment was awkward for me. I was fumed with rage, but more importantly with lust for this woman who’s name I didn’t know.
“My name is Victoria,” she mentioned.
I wondered if she could read my thoughts and when she inched closer to me, I realized she could. I smell her perfume and I feel a spark in my body, a surge of energy as she comes closer. Her lips inches closer to mine and they almost touch, I wanted to devour her passionately, but I must focus. I tried to resist her but no matter how hard I try, I couldn’t. She kisses my lips softly and whispers,
“You were going to kill me weren’t you?”
“What?”
“You were seconds from pulling the trigger, until you discovered someone else trying to kill me.”
She was right I was going to kill her, so I stayed quite. She sat back in the seat looking away from me. I could not see her emotions.
“You know I sent you to kill me. I set this whole thing up.”
“I’m confused. Why would you send me after you?”
“I needed to find you. Until yesterday you were believed to be dead,” she tells me holding my hand. I wanted her to continue so I didn’t interrupt.
“It was believed your vessel crashed on earth, more than 4000 years ago. You were sent by the council to scout new resources for our race, but you never returned with your findings. We thought you were dead, but you must have gone into hibernation after the crash. We sent more of our kind to finish the job you started, but when they saw the planets people were not advanced; they went rouge. Our technology was used to contribute to earth’s advancement. They lived amongst you unknowingly, while you lived your years on earth thinking you were the only of your kind,” she explained as I looked out into the dissipating cloud. I could see the city lights below, fluttering brightly.
“Victoria I don’t remember anything, I don’t know who I am. I don’t know who to trust. All I could tell you is I woke up yesterday on the side of the road. I had this cell phone, and a bunch of weapons. I also saw a book, a journal I kept, but I can’t read it,” I show her the book and continue “its in this strange language, filled with symbols. Can you help me read it, all I can recognize is a list of names and the word assassinated next to it. The only reason I came after you was so I could finish my job and get some answers.”
I looked at her and for a moment hoping for her help, but she didn’t even acknowledge me. I wondered if she heard me.”
“Now is not the time,” she said sternly. “We almost got enough power to jump into hyper space, so put your safety device on.
“No, were not leaving until I get some answers,” I shouted.
She ignored me while working the controls of the ship without touching a button. Her eyes glowed with a blue light, and the ship responded to it by taking off quickly. I felt the ship move heading into the stratosphere.
The ship made siren sounds, as Victoria panicked. A fighter jet was behind us and we were a locked target. We were nearly in the stratosphere with no land insight. I could hear my sword call out to me, warning me of danger, it gave me a vision of falling from the war bird, and so I did without warning. I left Victoria in the ship screaming at me with anger. I was falling fifty thousand feet to the earth, with no worries.
I’m falling in the cold air but I don’t feel it. I should hear rushing wind racing through my ears but Instead I hear my sword speaking to me telepathically, it tells me it wants to be held. I held it while as I watch it glow bright blue and suddenly a vortex of light overtakes me.
I’m on land safe from harm, back in the alley behind the gun shop from earlier. The sword took me from harm and transported me to safety. I transported again into the gun shop. I stood over the blind man and his dog, lying in a pool of blood. I get a vision of a small bottle with a green liquid. As I wonder what it was, my sword telepathically told me it was a time potion, which enables me to change the past to affect the future. I asked my sword where it was and how to use it. A vision of my pouch and the bottles in them. I saw it glow a bright blue and me taking a sip of it. So I did just as that and with in a flash, I’m in front the gun shop before any of this debacle took place.
I walked in as I did hours before. I spoke to the blind man kindly, as I studied his face unbelieving that he is now alive. I listened to him babble about aliens, even made friends with his barking dog. I tell him who I am, and my purpose. I explain to him I knew he had been waiting to serve me all his life, and that I needed to know everything he knew about me and my people. He tells me when he was a little boy he heard about the government coming in contact with aliens, he talked about area 51, and other places that rumored alien contact. He stated when his mother was pregnant with him, she was abducted by my people. They injected a communication device in her that made her go crazy and sent her to an asylum where she eventually died.
My people kept watch on earth through him, they used his eyes to spy on earth, his ears to command him, he was a slave to my home world. He was told that one day, I would come, asking for weapons more powerful beyond any human could ever imagine. He said I was the savior for his people and for mankind. He even told me that the sword I carried was the essence of my ancestor’s souls, and without it I am as common as a human. With the sword I could live for one thousand years with a year to regenerate. Once I became rejuvenated by my hyper sleep I would return again having no memory and that was the reason for my journal. Lastly, he warned me of a woman, who had a personal vendetta against me, who was made to betray me.
I listened to the old man as he spoke; I had my sword hidden in my coat I felt it vibrating. I looked at the sword glowing a hot red. A sudden flash of light threw me back into a worm hole, sending back to the present. I was transported back into the gun shop again, the old man and his dog wasn’t there; they lived because I changed the outcome of the past.
My sword glows hot red again, and I see a vision of someone trying to kill me from behind. I tuck and roll releasing my sword. I deflected a long Katana blade from a masked villain. I hopped to my feet as I stood ready to attack, when I noticed a familiar aroma coming from the assassin.
“Victoria!” I shouted as she lunged at me with a flying kick, I sway left and she misses. She never touches the ground before she swung her blade quickly at my throat. I ducked, and she missed. She lunged again at me this time with incredible speed with a rain of fist fluttering left to right to my face. I blocked them as I was dodging materials kicked up by the wind speed from our battle.
She grabbed and threw me through the brick wall. I landed on the street as she lunged at me with her sword aimed pointblank at my heart. I transported to my feet, before her sword stabbed the concrete. I through flash stars to blind her temporarily, while I grabbed her pony tail and flung her against several buildings.
Helicopters with bright lights hovered over us, I hear the sounds of missiles coming toward me and I transport us five miles in front of the missiles destruction. She transported herself, from my hold and twisted my wrist back, throwing me into another brick building. As I came to my feet, She picked up two cars using her telepathy and smashed me in between them several times. I felt dazed as she continued crushing me into the ground with them. I was buried deep beneath the earth as she torched the cars burning them while I was trapped underneath.
I became angry and crawled under ground like a ragging gofer, and shot up like a gyser grabbing her. I did not touch the ground, I kept flying upward, squeezing the life out of her like a snake to a mouse. I took her sword so that she was powerless as I flew us so deep into the stratosphere that her hair begun to freeze. I knew I could suffocate and freeze her, without her sword. She struggled trying to break free as we were entering space. In the depths of no where with no gravity, no air, and no humans.
I looked at Victoria in my arms stiff and frozen for now. I thought about pushing her into the depth of space, were she would be lost in her spacious coffin, but I needed more answers. I wanted to end this journey and find out what my true purpose was. I knew she could help me and help me she would on the moon.
The moon was in solitude so far away from the hustle and bustle of Earth. Its full of sand, rock and creators. I find a cave in the smallest creator I could locate on a lunar day. I rest myself but not my sword it gives me a vision of Victoria dying. She needs her sword to survive. I ask is there another way, and I get another vision of a flask in my right pocket. In it contains another liquid that wraps her in a cocoon, that suspends her. I take the flask and pour it on her. A drop of the liquid does the trick.
She was conscious fighting to get free of the cocoon. When she saw that she wasn’t breaking free, she cursed me.
“I can understand what your saying, I believe my memory is returning,” I said as I grabbed her sword.
I noticed it was different from mine, it has her touch figured, it has her soul I knew. With the sword in my hand she warned me to let it go.
“Your not in the position to make any demands,” I responded and continued, “what would happen if I destroyed your sword, and cut this cocoon?”
She stayed quite with a look of caution. She muffled the words, “I’ll tell you what you need to know, if you let me out of here and give me my sword.”
I didn’t trust her, I told her speak quick and wisely because I’m not patient. She told me, that I was a part of the Verullian council, and I was sent to kill the diplomats on our home world so that the council could take over other worlds. She was my wife who disagreed with my mission, and hid military plans of a technology so great that it could build other worlds and create life. She erased my memory while I was asleep and put my ship on course to a desolate planet, called earth. The council found out what she had done, sending troops to find me, while they imprisoned her and my unborn child. They have our child, while she escaped. She found me, ready to return the bounty on my head, so that her child could live.
I could see the truth as she spoke to me, as if this happened yesterday. I took my sword and cut her out of the cocoon, and returned her sword to her quickly. She took and whispered, “damalia” and the sword turned into a medallion that she hung around her neck.
“What did you say, and how can I do that?” I asked with amazement.
“Damalia in our language means, my soul. You have a word only you can know to turn your sword into what ever you desire.”
I communed with my sword, and it showed me a word “dazuzot” I spoke it and my sword turned into a ring. She told me the word meant my strength.
I didn’t have a moment to reflect before she was on the move. She told me the council was coming to earth, and that I was to be delivered, in exchange with our son, and destroy the ship with the explosives she planted on my body.
“Think again!” I said.
“I have another plan, lets get off this moon I have something to show you,” she said.
We transported to earth somewhere in New Mexico. She took me on a path within the mountains that looked familiar. We got to a big rock where she took my hand placing it flat on the rock. My hand glowed and made a passage within the rock
“This is your Hyper chamber, you have all sorts of things here that could help us,” she said.
She explained her plan to me as we made preparations. In the chamber we tracked the councils ship, they were just entering the milky way just three hours from earth.
“They brought a war ship, they mean to do damage, for some reason I don’t think there going to keep their promise, this makes me more motivated to destroy them.” She grabbed her sword and told me she would be back. She came back with a human body, that looked to me as if he could have been my twin.
“We need to give him your clothes dress him in your scent,” she paused with a worried look and said, “there’s one more thing, I also need your sword, they wont buy if I don’t have it.”
“you must be insane, you need me if your going to defeat them.”
“I need your trust if I’m going to defeat them.”
“You tried to kill me, how can I say you won’t return my sword, and destroy us all?”
She moved toward me slowly, and gave me a locket. When I felt it in my hands I knew it was my son’s I felt an unconditional love that made me want to do what ever it took to save my son, and this world.
The time was near the War ship was passing the moon undetected by NASA. They made contact with Victoria.
“I trust you have him,” one of the elders said. Victoria watching on a screen in my layer. I lay lifeless next to her tied up.
“Yes, master. I trust my son is safe?”
“ We will keep the end of our agreement, just send him to us.” There was a bit of silence. “Is he alive?”
“No, he would not let me take him alive. I had to kill him, I have his souls.” Victoria explained as she raised my sword. The scanned it from the computer screen, and spoke amongst themselves. They turned back to her and told her good job, and send me immediately.
She spoke to me telepathically, my instructions. I got up and placed the cadaver dressed in my clothes with sword that looked just as mine. She told me the coordinates to where she was sending the corps. I focused on a alternate coordinates, and commanded my sword to teleport me there. I made it the same time the look alike arrived.
My job was to find her son quickly. I had 10 minutes before the explosives went off, so really I had five. I had a map left, left , right, right and then another left is where our son’s energy levels originated. I got there quickly, undetected. I see him in a cage and he’s just a young boy. He asked me who I was. I told him, a friend that was going to take him back to his mother.
I had took 8 minutes, the clock was ticking fast. I grabbed the boy and focused on the coordinates to my chambers, but I made a mistake. I went back to the ships control room.
The elders were on the bridge, they saw me with the child and they became speechless. “oops!” I say, and drop and grenade as I teleport into space, flying fast as a bolt of lighting. The ship explodes behind me, as we enter into the atmosphere like a lost meteor. I’m coming in so hot our clothes burn from us. We hit the earth hard, a mushroom of smoke plums for miles of sight.
The dust clears, and I’m dead once more. Victoria caries me to my chambers to sleep once again, for how long is unknown, but at least she has our son and there safe. They hide on a moon in the kader system, there they should be safe, I hope.
