I once had a step father at one time in my life that was'ent nothing nice. J.L.Broadwater Now I was slim as a child, really no threat to anyone, never the less, this "man" would see fit everyday that the good lord gave him to beat my ass, and with no reason what so ever. Breakfest for me and my siblings consisted of a bowl of grits with sugar on top, a slice of toast and a glass of water. J.L.B. would have grits,with butter, sunny side eggs,toast, bacon and coffee. One morning befor school, I was in the 4th grade, jlb picked me up and threw me across the living room into a radaitor, head first ! The blow put a bump on my head the size of an egg ! My mother could'ent say anything, jlb was the type of m.f. that when check day rolled around, he was sure to be at the check cashing place with my mom. JLB suffered from a condiciton called "Narcolepsy" and it put him into a stuper or sleep mode. There was a steel plate in the back of his head from an old army injury. But to show you the mind of a child, I use to think about hitting him in the head with a hammer ! But my mind told me, it would'ent hurt him due to the metel plate, and all he would do was turn around and beat me again ! In all reality, I know now, that blow would have taken his black ass out ! and stright to the devel, cause he sure did'ent have a place in death with God !  I made a promise to myself that when I became a man, I would pay him back for all the beatings he had given to me and my mother !  This space of time was around 1963-64 *Note: Growing up I never got what they call...Positive Reenforcement, all I got was...you  "lttle red bastard" , "shit colored nigger", your  never gonna amount to anything !   "ugly m.f."   (thought I was an ugly man for many years. Took a long time and some very caring people and ladies in my life, before I had the realazation, that in fact, I was a pretty good looking man !  *switch to 1978, As it's said, God works in strange ways.... I started attending Long Island University/Brooklyn Center on theG.I. bill  ( Yes I'm an army vet, five years )  I moved into the dormatory in Feb. 1978, in June 1978, I was elected President of the Resident Govt.! Me the M.F. that never would amount to anything !  Ha,Ha    (9/29/07) this work is undone.
